Wamé is a Canadian baby essentials brand making premium, gender-neutral baby sleepwear in viscose from bamboo — designed in Alberta and built on verified claims only.
Why Wamé exists
A quiet frustration with the aisle.
Baby clothing is crowded with loud prints, gendered aisles, and claims that fall apart under scrutiny. Wamé was founded on a narrower idea: a small number of essential pieces, made carefully, described honestly.
Our first piece is the Bamboo Zip Sleeper — a zip-front sleeper in 95% viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex at a 250 GSM fabric weight, offered in three low-saturation colourways designed to be handed down rather than sorted by aisle.

Every claim is documented before it reaches you.
Our fabric specification requires OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I certification — the class written for textiles intended for babies and toddlers under three. As part of pre-launch development, our garments go through independent third-party laboratory testing covering flammability, lead, phthalates, and fibre content. Our sleepwear follows Health Canada's tight-fitting construction guidance, the recognized safer approach for children's sleepwear. You can read more about the fabric itself on our fabric page.
Gentle first
Every material begins with one question: is it gentle enough for the most sensitive skin? If the answer is anything less than yes, it does not make it in.
Honest simplicity
No excess, no unnecessary features. Pieces that do one thing well and belong in a calm, considered home.
Made to be handed down
Neutral colourways and quiet design mean each piece can pass from one little one to the next, regardless of who wears it.
What we will not do
The words we refuse to use.
We do not use words like “organic,” “hypoallergenic,” “non-toxic,” or “sustainable” unless a current certification backs them. We call our fabric viscose from bamboo, because that is what Canadian labelling rules require it to be called, and because precision matters more to us than marketing shorthand. We never photograph babies without explicit parental consent, which is why you will mostly see hands and fabric here.

Wamé is founded and run by one person in Alberta, Canada — sourcing, testing, design, and every word on this site. Small by design, accountable by default.
Where we are now
The first collection is taking shape.
